Welcome to the Black Youth Leadership Symposium, an exciting initiative spearheaded by the York Region Alliance of African Canadian Communities (YRAACC) in collaboration with York Catholic District School Board (YRCDSB), York District School Board (YRDSB), Schulich School of Business Executive Education, and York Regional Police (YRP). This event is designed to provide impactful leadership development opportunities for youth in York Region, focusing on students going into grades 10 and 11.
Key Highlights Include:
Career Empowerment and Personal Branding: Led by experts from Schulich Executive Education and the Black Entrepreneurs Alliance, these sessions will equip students with the skills to navigate their future career paths with confidence.
Practical Breakout Sessions: Workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills, and leadership development will provide students with hands-on, practical experience.
Leadership Panel: An inspiring discussion with leaders from different professions, offering valuable insights into career success.
Networking Opportunities: Engage with leaders from various sectors and companies offering volunteer opportunities and employment prospects.
Our goal is to host up to 150 students, representing a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. At the end of the symposium, attendees will receive a certificate from Schulich Executive Education, recognizing their participation and achievements—an excellent addition to their resumes.
